I HAVE NOT written about the issue of Homosexuality and the Church for a variety of reasons. All sides are vitriolic and you know the arguments and the counter-arguements ad nauseum. It tires me to talk about the topic because I'm an Episcopalian and we're the "gay" Church (there are only a few things that people know about The Episcopal Church: one is that we're kind of Catholic [meaning Roman] and two is that we have a male Bishop who is open about having a partner). To me, there are so many more important things to write, speak and expend my energy on than get embroiled in an endless and nasty debate that more often than not ends up not being about people's actions, but their perceived worth in the Church.

WHILE READING THIS, you're probably wondering where I stand on these issues, not caring for what I write. You want to know where I stand on this issue. You've got your responses ready and your scriptures rehearsed. You're ready for a fight. To bad you'll not get one from me today. You can relax, if that's at all possible. And I will not hesitate to delete comments.

ANYWAY, I CAME accross this post from a blogger who is a celibate man with homosexual inclinations on his life. I found it an entirely painful, though completely fresh take on the topic. Whether I agree wih him or not, I admire his sanctity and self-denial. May God enable us all to live as true Saints emboding His holiness. Do, read it!

"We are all sinners, saved by grace. We are all subject to manifold temptations, and sometimes (often) we fall. Christ died for us while we were yet sinners, and there is still no other kind of person in His church."
OF COURSE NOW, let me go back to praying the Office and serving those in need. Thank you.
