The Swoop
FIRST, THE SUN is out today though there is still a nip in the air. It's a good day for Mendelssohn. Here is the Fourth Movement of his Italian Symphony (4). I love Wind sections that make me seasick from their movement! Feel free to give a listen:

YESTERDAY WAS THE Feast of St. Joseph. Since it is a prayerbook Feast day (only one of two in Lent), I decided to give up my Lenten Devotions in celebration. I wrote on Facebook that I wanted to celebrate the day by marrying a pregnant girl. We quickly discovered that I wanted a Mary, not a Gomer. I meant no offense to either Our Lady or her most chaste spouse. Today, I'm back in Lent and commerating St. Cuthbert of Lindisfarne. I wrote a bit about him and Cormac McCarthy here. I've always wanted to name my firstborn, Carlyle Cuthbert, but I've been heading more towards Rutherford James in recent memory. Yes, I know. None of this has a point.

SPEAKING OF HAVING no point, here is the most recent edition of Ask Andy.

I THINK THAT is all for now. I'm going to go back to my Lenten viewing of Lost. I swear to goodness that they're in Purgatory. But I'm only halfway through the second season!
