I never saw the story as personality typing, but rather at that instant in time, Mary had chosen more rightly. I love Martha's profession of faith when Lazarus had died. She believed that he would be raised at final judgement and then when Jesus asked if she believed He was the resurrection, she answers: "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world." And then she goes to call Mary.

Martha doesn't even fit the Mary-Martha dichotomy.
